Classroom and Conference Room Audiovisual Capabilities

All classrooms, and nearly all conference rooms are equipped with modern, and consistent audiovisual (A/V) systems.  If you are familiar with A/V in one room, it should work very similarly in other rooms.

You can connect any laptop equipped with HDMI or USB-C.  Plug the cable into your laptop, and turn the system on by tapping the "HDMI" button on the AV touch panel.

To participate in a Zoom meeting or wirelessly share your screen, see our " Using Room AV with Zoom" article.

All Thayer classes are scheduled to record automatically using built-in room cameras and microphones.  Videos are uploaded to Canvas/Panopto, but left unpublished.  See our " Panopto Video" article for more details about publishing and editing video.

If you would like to record the room outside of a scheduled class session, you can send a request to Thayer Computing, or join the room to a Zoom meeting, and use Zoom's built-in recording capabilities.  This will record from the room cameras, and microphones, but at a lower quality than our room recording system.  The Zoom recording will be uploaded to the meeting owner's Panopto folder.
